Preservation Library & Resource Room

The Cincinnati Preservation Library & Resource Room is a non-circulating research library dedicated to preserving and sharing the rich architectural and cultural history of the Greater Cincinnati region.
It is free and open to the public by appointment. Whether you’re researching a historic building, writing a local history, or simply curious about Cincinnati’s past, we’re here to help.
The Preservation Library &Resource Room is supported in memory of Michael Ibold Wilger.

National Register & Ohio Historic Inventory Files
These documents often include nomination forms, photos, architectural descriptions, and context statements.
Original paper files for select properties in:
• Hamilton County
• Butler County
• Warren County
• Clermont County
Walter Langsam Files & Slide Archive
The personal research files and 35mm slides of Cincinnati architectural historian Walter E. Langsam, covering hundreds of local buildings.
Currently being cataloged, but available for research.

Children’s Corner
We believe it’s never too early to start learning about the places that shape our community!
Our Children’s Corner is a cozy, kid-friendly space with books, coloring pages, and activities designed to introduce young visitors to history, architecture, and preservation in fun and engaging ways.
