Every building has a story to tell—and we’re here to help you discover it. Whether you’re a homeowner, business owner, or preservation advocate, our customized Historic Building Research reports bring your property’s past to life.
Our in-depth reports may include:
- Architectural Style or Style influences
- Auditor Information (year built, transfer records, legal description and photos)
- Search of the County/City Directories approximately every five years between 1819 and 1959 for residents
- Historic Maps
- Deed Index Search (provides owner’s name, deed book and page)
- Any Deeds currently available on-line
- Census Records and Ancestry.com Family Trees
- Newspaper Archive Searches
- Old Photo Search (hardest to find but every effort will be made to discover these)
Meet Our Researcher
All research is conducted by Ann Senefeld of Digging Cincinnati History, a respected historian and researcher with extensive experience uncovering Cincinnati’s architectural and community past. Anne brings a deep knowledge of archival sources, a passion for storytelling, and a keen eye for historical detail to every project.
Pricing
Our pricing is based on the building’s approximate year of construction (based on Auditor information) and the original use to reflect the complexity and availability of research materials:
- Built 1850 or earlier – Commercial/Multi-family $800; Single Family- $750
- Built 1851–1900 –Commercial/Multi-family $700; Single Family- $650
- Built 1901–1950 – Commercial/Multi-family $600; Single Family- $550
- Built after 1950 – $500
Turnaround time is typically 4–6 weeks, depending on the availability of records and project queue.
