CPA Partners with Cincinnati Observatory for a Star Party in Mt. Airy!

Cincinnati Observatory took telescopes and programs to each of Cincinnati’s 52 neighborhoods with its 52 Weeks of Astronomy Project. Cincinnati Preservation Association was pleased to host their Mt. Airy program on Tuesday, October 8 at Pinecroft, The Powel Crosley, Jr., Estate.

A number of telescopes were available for viewing the night sky. They were located in the garden behind the Crosley mansion. Saturn, Jupiter and the Moon were visible as we had a clear sky.

The sky was clear and we all had a wonderful evening of star viewing!
The moon photographed with a hand held camera through a telescope turned out to be surprisingly good.

The event was free and there were cookies!

Dean Regas and volunteers of the Cincinnati Observatory were be at Pinecroft for the Star Party. They assisted visitors as they view the night sky.
