Nominations Open for 2012 Preservation Awards
Each year, CPA’s Preservation Awards recognize outstanding accomplishments in local preservation activities. Nominations are accepted in the following categories:
Rehabilitation: for owners and developers of historic buildings that have been substantially restored or rehabilitated and comply with the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for Rehabilitation. Work must have been completed within the last year.
Craftsmanship: for contractors, conservators, artisans, artists and craftsmen who have demonstrated consistent top-quality restoration techniques in their work.
Education: for organizations or individuals who have produced quality programs, publications, inventories, etc., promoting awareness of historic preservation.
Sustainability: honoring major improvements in the energy efficiency of a historic building, while preserving its architectural character.
For all nominations, supporting documentation, such as newspaper articles, press releases and letters of endorsement, is welcome. For Rehabilitation Award nominations, good-quality before-and-after views photographs are essential. You will find the Awards Nomination Form below. Completed nominations are due September 29th at 5:00 p.m.
Last year’s winners included The Bridgeview, City Council Chambers Ceiling,HughesHigh School, Parvis Lofts, Saengerhalle, theUnited Wayof Greater Cincinnati and the Vogel House.
