Pulitzer restores Woodlawn’s 1938 Rauh House
‘Gorgeous,’ Pulitzer says of her childhood home
The lights are on for visitors at the Rauh House in Woodlawn for the first time since it was abandoned in 2005.
Original resident Emily Rauh Pulitzer is more than pleased.
“I think it’s fabulous. It is SO gorgeous,” Pulitzer said 12 days after viewing her fully restored childhood home.
Pulitzer said she hopes people appreciate the architecture of the boxy, white and sunny house more than when she lived there in the 1940s and ’50s.
“I know it had an incredible impact on me,” Pulitzer said. “The house has these large windows, so you could be inside and outside at the same time.
