About the Talk: When Isaiah Rogers moved to Cincinnati in 1848 to design the Burnet House Hotel he was already one of the most famous architects in the country. His work ranged from grand hotels to simple shops and houses. For decades he kept up an extraordinary pace of travel and commissions. Although Rogers is considered one of the leading architects of the Greek Revival era, few of his built works have survived. The talk will trace his development and his impact on the history of American architecture.
