Building Stories: “Walk and Learn” on Dayton Street

Meet at John Hauck House, 812 Dayton Street

10:00 am – noon

“Sermons in stones, and good in everything.”–Shakespeare, As You Like It (II.i.1–17)

Brick facades. Tin cornices. Stone carvings, walls and steps. Our historic buildings have much to tell us, if we know where to look. Where did these materials came from? Who  produced them? How did buildings change over time? Learn about the technology that made these buildings possible, how to maintain and repair them, and how owners adapted their buildings to changing architectural fashions. Tour guides will be Ken Hughes, principal of Decorative Restorations overseeing the restoration of the Hauck House, and Margo Warminski, CPA Preservation Director.

Free to CPA members and students, $5.00 guests. Reservations required: Call 513-721-4506 ext. 2 or visit
